My Baby Compass includes recommended Toys and Playtime activities for each age group. Toys and activities will keep your child moving forward and lead him to the next level of development.
As your 19 – 24 month child’s fine motor skills continue to improve, he will begin to show new interests.
Below are some age appropriate activities for your toddler:
- Coloring and drawing. Drawing with chalk on the driveway or sidewalk can be fun, and coloring books can provide an outlet for artistic development.
- Toddlers love to be chased, and they also love to run after mom and dad. Play a game of tag by drawing islands where you can’t be tagged on the driveway with chalk.
- Toys that snap together, like big beads, age-appropriate Legos® or interlocking foam blocks can provide hours of imaginative play.
- Stringing one to two-inch “play” beads requires well developed fine motor skills. If your toddler is not interested in stringing them, he can choose the colors, sizes and shapes of the beads, and you can help him string them.
My Baby Compass will give you information, ideas, support and encouragement as you help your child grow. You know your own precious child better than anyone else, and I encourage you to invest in and enjoy these early years.
